Uganda Project

TheUganda Project has been running for 6 years and works with a charity called Softpower Education. The charity’s aim is to develop and improve educational facilities for children in Uganda, mainly in the primary sector.

The project has previously worked on sites in the Jinja district of the country. This has also included Leeds students funding and helping to vuild a Cultural Educatio Centre. The last two years, Soft Power Education has branched out to the North West of the Country to Murchison Falls National Park.

Last summer, Leeds worked at two schools in the park, as well as an Education Conservation Centre. Living inside the National Park, working with the local community and seeing elephants, hippos and other safari animals in there natural environment is an experience not to be missed. The project also provides a starting point to further explore East Africa and have a truly memorable summer .

If you’re interested in this amazing adventure you can contact the project organisers to get in touch with them!
