What is the Community Fund?
The Leeds RAG Community Fund is a small pot of money that is collected from a variety of our events through the year. The fund is then open for applications early each year and, if successful, charities are given small grants to assist them with their work.
Although donations are made to national and international charities, the focus of the Community Fund is on smaller, local charities who may not benefit from regular donations. This is reflected in the application process by restricting bids to those from charities who have an annual turnover of less than £150,000.
Charities who are successful in their Community Fund bid are invited a Presentation Afternoon during Leeds University Union’s ‘Thank You’ Week in April – one of RAG’s most prestigious events of the year.

Testimonials
“May I once again thank everyone for the effects and the love of what you all do that allows you to donate to services like mine.” (Car-Gomm)
“Please pass on our very special thanks to ALL the members of Leeds RAG who contributed in some way to raising so much money for the Community Fund this year. Their achievements are absolutely tremendous! I was so inspired by their enthusiasm, their positivity & their dedication & commitment in giving so much of themselves to the benefit of others; a very humbling thing to witness.
I left on Friday afternoon [the Presentation Afternoon] feeling full of hope & optimism for the future; believing for the first time in a long time that if our society is full of the kind of selfless, compassionate & committed young people that I met at Leeds University then our world has a very bright future indeed! I wish I could bottle your enthusiasm & energy & liberally sprinkle it wherever I see despondency & defeatism!
You are all living proof of the amazing work that can be achieved through a unified, positive belief in a greater cause! Congratulations for all that you have accomplished so far & keep up the excellent work!” (Ectopic Pregnancy Trust).
